2009 GRAPE DAY PARADE
STREET CLOSURE INFORMATION
Street closures for the Grape Day Parade will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, September 12, 2009.
"No Parking, 6 a.m. to 12 noon" will be in effect on all blocks of the parade route except the 100 East and 100 West blocks of Grand Avenue. “No Parking” will be in effect on those blocks from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
The Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Escondido Boulevard, heading east. After making a U-turn at Juniper, it will continue back to Escondido Boulevard. It will conclude at 10:30 a.m.
- Grand Avenue will be closed from Centre City Parkway on the west, to Juniper on the east, and intersecting side streets (Kalmia, Broadway, Escondido Boulevard) will be closed from Grand to the alleys. In addition, Orange will be closed from Grand to Second, and Maple will be closed from Grand to Valley Parkway. The alleys will remain open to you for access, and for emergency purposes.
- This year the historic Parade will generate foot-traffic as new people come Downtown to enjoy the Parade and Grape Day Festival. Use this opportunity to invite future customers into your places of business.
Please call Greta Kertz, Parade Coordinator, (760) 215-1257, or The Escondido History Center at (760) 743-8207 if you have additional questions.
